Friday night, Justin took me on a surprise date to Kansas's City's Crown Center for the Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting. Not only that, but he had arranged to meet my parents down there as well. It was a perfect 60 degrees, the Kansas City Symphony Chorus sang Christmas carols, and Janelle Monae was the guest who got to flip the switch. After the lights were lit, fireworks danced through the sky to a modern version of the Nutcracker Suite. It was so much fun!

We watched the lighting from a 23rd floor apartment. Stunning from above, and I'm sure was better hearing the music near the stage. Great photos!
